Iowa Enacts OT Compact
On May 24, 2022, Iowa became the 21st state to join the compact Occupational Therapy Licensure Compact when Governor Reynolds signed into law Senate File 463.
Having reached the minimum threshold of ten states to activate the compact, member states are in the process of establishing the Compact Commission. Over the next few months, the member states will nominate their Commission delegates and the Commission will officially convene its first meeting to draft the rules and bylaws of Compact.
Once the commissioners agree upon rules and establish a method for information sharing, states may grant Compact licenses to the practitioners residing in Compact member states.
The Commissioners expect to have their first meeting in August (see this page for details).
